Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Palma

The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Palma is a Baroque church on Plaza Alta in Algeciras featuring five naves supported by Ionic columns arranged in a series of arches. The facade displays typical Baroque details and ornamentation, with a prominent bell tower rising above the plaza level.

Construction began in 1723 to replace the inadequate Chapel of Our Lady of Europe and meet growing community needs. The bell tower was finally completed in 1829, marking the end of a prolonged building phase.
