Conjunto histórico artístico de Agüero, Historic artistic complex in Marina de Cudeyo, Spain.
Conjunto historico artistico de Agüero is an ensemble of historic buildings near the coast that includes a medieval tower, a 17th-century manor house, and a 16th-century parish church. The structures sit on a rise of about 60 meters and display building styles spanning multiple centuries.
Pedro González de Agüero founded the original church around 1500 next to the medieval tower that already stood there. His wooden sarcophagus is now kept at the Regina Coeli Museum, showing the importance his family held in the region.
The site takes its name from a local family that has roots in the region for centuries. The buildings cluster together forming a small settlement where you can see how residents once lived and organized their homes.
The site is accessible via the CA-421 road and features marked trails that guide visitors through the different buildings and structures. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes since access to some areas involves walking on uneven paths.
A medieval stone bridge located about one kilometer from the main ensemble crosses a stream with three rounded arches. This bridge retains its original structure to this day and demonstrates the medieval craftsmanship found in the region.
