Playa de los Genoveses

Playa de los Genoveses is a natural beach in Cabo de Gata Natural Park, stretching along golden sand shores with low dunes and desert vegetation. The Mediterranean waters lap against the shoreline, creating a peaceful coastal setting.

In 1147, a Genoese fleet landed here to support Alfonso VII's military campaign against Muslim forces in the region. This event shaped the area's history and gave the place its name.

The shore has served as a filming location for television series and movies over several decades, drawing attention to its natural appeal. Visitors walk through the same landscapes that appeared on screen in various productions.

Access to the beach is limited during summer months and requires using a shuttle bus service or paying a vehicle entrance fee. Arriving early or visiting outside peak season helps avoid crowding.

Small eucalyptus groves in the northern section offer natural shade in the otherwise open coastal landscape. These scattered trees provide a welcome refuge on hot days.
