Jardín Botánico Santa Clotilde

Santa Clotilde Gardens is an estate set on a terraced clifftop between two beaches, extending across a large area with views toward the sea. The space is organized across multiple levels, with plants, pathways, and structures following the steep slope.

An aristocrat commissioned a prominent architect in 1919 to design this estate, but completion was delayed by early 20th-century events. The project was later finished and has shaped this coastal area ever since.

The garden displays a design philosophy through symmetrical layouts and Mediterranean plants, expressed in neoclassical sculptures, fountains, and decorative staircases. Visitors notice this approach throughout their walk and experience it as part of the overall landscape composition.

The site is accessible year-round and offers visitors time to explore the different levels at their own pace. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes, as there are many steps and uneven pathways.

Staircases throughout the grounds are covered with ivy and look like flowing water, while mermaid sculptures serve as fountain spouts. These unusual details make walking through the grounds feel special.
