Hospital del Niño Jesús

Hospital del Niño Jesús is a university pediatric hospital in the Retiro district with specialized departments for children's medical care supported by modern equipment. The building itself features Neo-mudéjar architecture and includes both clinical spaces and cultural areas such as a former pharmacy.

The hospital was founded in 1877 and its building completed in 1881 following the architectural design of Francisco Jareño y Alarcón in Neo-mudéjar style. The construction marked the beginning of a medical facility that would serve families for generations to come.

The hospital displays paintings from the 17th century that once belonged to the Duchess of Santoña, and preserves a historical pharmacy that functions as a museum today.
