Reajo Alto, Mountain summit in Navarredonda y San Mamés, Spain
Reajo Alto is a mountain summit in the Sierra de Guadarrama rising to approximately 2,100 meters, with steep and rocky passages to the top. The ascent crosses gravel paths and stony terrain characteristic of this mountain range.
For centuries, the peak served as a natural boundary marker separating communities in the Castilla y León region. Its geographic position made it an important reference point for territorial divisions among local areas.
Shepherds continue traditional grazing practices in the area surrounding the peak, maintaining methods that have been part of local life for many generations.
Reaching the summit requires a high-clearance vehicle due to narrow and steep roads that can be driven year-round. Winter months from November through March often make passages difficult or impassable due to snow and ice.
From the peak, visitors can see several valleys of the Montes Carpetanos at once, creating multiple perspectives of the surrounding landscape. This vantage point reveals different visual impressions depending on the time of day and light conditions.
