Vazquez de Molina Palace, Renaissance palace at Vázquez de Molina Square, Spain

The palace exhibits a three-story facade divided into seven vertical sections, featuring triangular pediments above first-floor windows and oval portholes on the second floor.

Built between 1546 and 1565, the palace was commissioned by Juan Vázquez de Molina, Secretary of State for Philip II, and designed by architect Andrés de Vandelvira.

The palace became a Dominican convent after Vázquez de Molina's death, with mural paintings from this period still visible in the former chapter house.

The building functions as Úbeda's City Hall since 1837, following the Ecclesiastical Confiscations of Mendizábal, and remains open to the public.

The structure earned its alternative name, Palace of the Chains, from the decorative chains that originally hung from its Renaissance facade.
