Castell de Miravet

Castell de Miravet is a medieval fortress complex sitting on a hilltop with defensive walls, watchtowers, and the remains of an old church. The entire site contains remnants of residential buildings and religious structures that show different periods of occupation.

The fortress was originally built under Islamic rule and was captured by El Cid in 1090. After this conquest, it passed into Christian hands and became an important stronghold in the region.
