Casa Manuel Felip, Modernist building in Dreta de l'Eixample, Spain
Casa Manuel Felip is a residential building in Catalan modernism located in Barcelona, distinguished by stone facades with multiple balconies and decorative carvings. A large F symbol above the entrance marks the building and references its namesake.
Architect Telm Fernández i Janot designed this residence in 1901 for textile industrialist Manuel Felip Sintas. The main floor was reserved for the owner and his family while the rest of the structure served other purposes.
The interior preserves original paintings, sliding doors, and Carrara marble that reflect the elegance of its past residents. Stained glass windows depicting The Three Graces demonstrate the craftsmanship invested in every room.
The building offers tours with advance reservation required, available in multiple languages. Visitors should allow time to observe the facade details and interior decorative elements, as the house contains extensive craftsmanship throughout.
A striking feature is the wooden fireplace handcrafted by Lambert Escaler, which still impresses visitors today. The house also preserves furniture from the late 19th and early 20th centuries that shows how affluent families lived during that era.
