Laga

Laga is a golden sand beach in the Basque Country, stretching about 574 meters along the northern coast. Rocky outcrops frame both sides of the beach, creating natural walls that shelter the shore from strong winds.

The beach became part of a protected natural reserve in 1984 to safeguard the coastal environment and its wildlife. This designation helped maintain the shore's character and water quality across the following decades.

The shore is lined with small fishing huts and boat sheds that reflect everyday Basque life on the water. Locals and visitors gather here to swim, walk, and spend time by the sea throughout the year.

Changing rooms, showers, and lifeguards are available during summer months, with parking at both ends of the beach. The sand is easy to access, and the rocks at the sides offer paths for exploring the surrounding area.

The beach attracts surfers year-round thanks to consistent wave patterns shaped by its coastal position. This reliable swell makes it a gathering spot for water sports enthusiasts across the region.
