Bridge of La Estrella of 1933, Road bridge in Zamora Province, Spain.

The Bridge of La Estrella spans the Esla River at the Ricobayo Reservoir as part of the N-631 national road. Its platform measures less than 4 meters wide, making it exceptionally narrow for a main highway crossing.

This crossing was built in 1933 to replace an earlier structure that had stood since 1869. Its construction occurred during Spain's pre-civil war years and reflected broader infrastructure development efforts of that time.

The structure demonstrates Spanish engineering practices from the early 1900s through its construction methods and materials that remain visible today. Crossing it gives a sense of how infrastructure was built during that period.

The bridge is so narrow that two vehicles cannot pass each other at the same time, so drivers must proceed with caution. It's best to cross slowly and stay alert, especially during heavier traffic periods.

This is Spain's only national road bridge where two vehicles cannot pass at the same time, making it unique in the entire highway system. No other main road crossing in the country shares this extreme constraint.
