The Parc de la Préhistoire spans 13 hectares with water features, showcasing life-size reproductions of prehistoric scenes and extinct animals including woolly mammoths.
Established in 1994, this educational center presents archaeological findings and replicas from regional caves, including detailed reproductions from the Niaux and Marsoulas sites.
Visitors learn prehistoric skills through workshops teaching spear hunting, flint carving, fire making, and cave painting using authentic materials and techniques.
The facility requires three to four hours to explore fully and includes a restaurant serving regional cuisine, free parking, and a souvenir shop.
The Grand Atelier covers 2,500 square meters, featuring extensive exhibits of prehistoric art through films, artifacts, and exact reproductions of cave paintings.
