Montou, Summit in Camélas, France
The Montou summit reaches an elevation of 289 meters above sea level in the Aspres region of the Eastern Pyrenees.
Archaeological excavations conducted between 1985 and 1995 in the Montou cave revealed human settlements dating back to the Neolithic period.
The cave galleries preserve ancient wall inscriptions, some dating back to 1660, documenting the successive passages of visitors through time.
The trail from Camélas cemetery to the summit requires 4 hours and 25 minutes of walking, covering a distance of 15.5 kilometers.
The underground network of the massif includes 2400 meters of galleries spread over an area equivalent to a football field.
