Tour La Marseillaise, Skyscraper in Euroméditerranée district, Marseille, France
Tour La Marseillaise is a modern office tower with 31 floors and a height of 136 meters in Marseille's Euroméditerranée district. The distinctive facade displays red, white, and blue tones and houses roughly 35,000 square meters of office space along with ground-level shops, a cafeteria, and a childcare center.
Construction started in 2014 under architect Jean Nouvel's direction, and the building opened in October 2018. The tower was built as part of the broader redevelopment of Marseille's Euroméditerranée district.
The building's name references the French national anthem, and its tricolor facade reflects the colors of the flag. Visitors immediately notice how these patriotic colors mark the tower as a distinctly French landmark.
The building has multiple entrances and is easily accessible from street level, with clear orientation thanks to its distinctive colored facade. The retail and cafeteria areas are open to the public, while office floors are typically reserved for tenants and authorized visitors.
The facade incorporates 26 different color variations that shift and adapt throughout the day depending on light conditions and reflections. This sophisticated color treatment gives the tower a constantly changing visual appearance that subtly captures Mediterranean qualities.
