Promenade Germaine-Sablon, Parisian street
Promenade Germaine-Sablon is a pedestrian path in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, stretching from Rue Bruneseau to Boulevard du Général-d'Armée-Jean-Simon. The pathway connects different areas and offers views of modern towers, including the Duo towers designed by architect Jean Nouvel.
The promenade was originally known as Voie HA/13 until it was renamed in 2021 to honor Germaine Sablon. The renaming celebrates the singer and resistance fighter who popularized the song Chant des partisans during wartime.
The promenade is named after Germaine Sablon, a French singer and resistance fighter during World War II. Her name honors a woman who shaped French history through music and her role in the resistance movement.
The promenade is easy to reach on foot from Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand metro station on line 14. Tram T3a also stops near the path at Avenue de France, providing multiple transportation options for visitors.
The pathway is part of the Paris-Rive-Gauche project, a large urban development that merges contemporary architecture with renewed public space. The project demonstrates how modern development transforms the district while keeping its connection to the past.
