Grand Palais Éphémère

The Grand Palais Éphémère is a temporary exhibition and sports venue at Champ de Mars measuring 145 meters long and 20 meters high. The structure of wood and textile materials creates a flexible space of about 10,000 square meters for events ranging from art exhibitions to sports competitions.

This temporary structure opened in 2021 to maintain the original Grand Palais's functions during its major renovation from 2020 to 2024. The interim building enabled the venue to continue hosting events throughout this renovation period.

The space regularly hosts international art fairs, fashion shows, and cultural events that showcase contemporary artistic work. Visitors experience Paris's tradition of supporting modern creative expression in this setting.

The venue sits directly at the base of the Eiffel Tower, making it easy to reach and a natural stop when exploring the area. Visitors should keep in mind that this is a temporary structure and may close or change depending on upcoming plans.

During the 2024 Paris Olympics, this venue hosted judo and wrestling competitions, showcasing how its flexible design could adapt for major sporting events. This role in the Games demonstrated the structure's ability to serve demanding athletic needs.
