Sanatorium de Dreux, Art Deco sanatorium in Dreux, France
The sanatorium extends across 47 hectares with its main building stretching 380 meters, featuring five medical pavilions named after prominent physicians.
Built between 1931 and 1958 under Mayor Maurice Viollette's initiative, the facility accommodated 400 tuberculosis patients before transforming into a cardiology center.
The complex represents French medical advancement through its pavilion system, where each building served specific healthcare purposes within the treatment program.
The site stands abandoned since 1978, with only two buildings remaining functional: a children's activity center and a medical archives facility.
The reinforced concrete structure maintains its horizontal layout, making it distinct among French sanatoriums of the early twentieth century.
