Oasis d'Aboukir, Green wall in 2nd district, France
Oasis d'Aboukir is a green wall at the corner of Aboukir Street and Petits Carreaux Street. It rises approximately 25 meters high and holds about 7600 plants from 237 different species distributed across the facade.
The installation was revealed in 2013 during Paris Design Week and marked a turning point in integrating green areas into urban spaces. The project followed the concept of making city facades more alive and connected to nature.
The vertical garden shows how green walls can transform urban views and give new character to building surfaces. Visitors can see how plants reshape the streetscape and create a more organic feel in the city.
This green wall is freely accessible and easy to view from street level. For the best view, step back from the facade to see the full height and overall composition.
The plants are arranged in diagonal wave patterns across the facade, creating natural structures. This arrangement shifts in appearance with the seasons as the plants grow and change.
