La Ferme des Reptiles

La Ferme des Reptiles is a reptile zoo in La Bastide-de-Sérou that houses more than 200 animals spanning about 93 species in different sections. The facility includes a garden area with lizards and turtles as well as a tropical section featuring caimans and snakes.

The facility was founded in 1996 and grew from the effort of a dedicated individual who created the project from the start. It is now managed by the next generation and continues its focus on public education about reptiles.

The place serves as an educational hub where visitors can observe and interact with reptiles through feeding demonstrations and handling experiences. Staff members work to change how people view these animals and spark genuine interest across all age groups.

The zoo is open throughout the year on select days and includes guided tours as part of your visit without needing to book in advance. You can explore the different areas at your own pace or join staff-led explanations during your time there.

The outdoor park is home to giant Aldabra tortoises that roam freely in a large open area where guests can encounter them directly. These massive creatures are remarkably impressive to observe up close and create a memorable highlight during your visit.
