Ramgarh district

Ramgarh is an administrative district in Jharkhand situated in the North Chotanagpur division, covering roughly 1,360 square kilometers. The region is divided into six blocks that encompass 364 villages, forming a landscape of rural settlements and industrial areas.

The district was established on September 12, 2007, when it separated from the former Hazaribagh District as a new administrative entity. This creation resulted from a state reorganization aimed at improving local governance and service delivery in the region.

The Maa Chhinnamasta Temple at Rajrappa serves as a central gathering place where the community celebrates traditional festivals throughout the year. People here speak Hindi and Khortha, keeping their customs alive in their daily routines.

When visiting, you will find two colleges and several banks distributed across the district where you can handle banking needs, along with two hospitals for medical requirements. The area has helplines and local authorities available to assist travelers with questions or concerns.

The Damodar Valley area within the district holds significant deposits of coal and limestone that form the economic foundation for steel and cement manufacturing. These natural resources have shaped the region's development into a major industrial and production hub.
