Pravin Rai Mahal, Palace and State Protected Monument in Orchha, Tikamgarh district, India.

Pravin Rai Mahal is a three-story palace in Orchha with a central hall, paintings, and several smaller rooms throughout its structure. Multiple windows set into the walls bring natural light into the interior spaces.

The palace was built in 1618 by Prince Indrajit Singh for Pravin Rai, a musician and poet known as the Nightingale of Orchha. This construction reflects the artistic patronage that was important to Bundela rulers.

The second floor displays paintings that show different moods and emotional states, reflecting the artistic traditions of the Bundela Rajput court. These works offer visitors insight into how art was valued and appreciated during that period.

The palace contains a semi-subterranean summer room that stays significantly cooler than the outside through natural ventilation. This space demonstrates how builders managed interior temperatures during hot seasons.

The structure once served as Tope Khana, a strategic lookout post for Orchha Fort that combined defensive and residential purposes. This dual function makes it a notable example of military architecture from that era.
