Seyyed Mosque

The Seyyed Mosque extends over a rectangular base with two domes, featuring numerous corridors and four main iwans adorned with decorative tiles from the Qajar period.

Construction of the mosque began in 1825 on a plot previously owned by Safavid ruler Soltan Hoseyn, with work continuing through four stages over 130 years.

The mosque functions as both a spiritual center and educational facility, with window designs indicating its past use as a religious school during the nineteenth century.

The structure maintains wheelchair accessibility throughout its premises and remains open for regular prayer services and community gatherings in Isfahan's cultural district.

Instead of traditional minarets, the mosque incorporates a clock tower behind one of its iwans, while containing a mausoleum with the remains of Mohammad Bagher Shafti.
