Isfahan Province, Historical capital in central Iran.

Isfahan Province contains a city built along the Zayandeh River in central Iran, surrounded by mountains with numerous historic sites and structures. The urban area features gardens, bridges, and major squares that shape how the city looks and functions.

The region flourished in the 16th century when Shah Abbas I moved the capital here during the Safavid era. This period brought major building projects and shaped much of what you see today.

The central square shows how Persian architecture shapes daily life, with its surrounding buildings and the way visitors and locals move through the space. The gardens and bridges reflect how water and design have always mattered to people in this region.

The airport provides connections to major cities, and local buses help you get around the area. Spring and autumn offer the most comfortable conditions for walking and exploring.

The old bridges crossing the river have covered arcades and pavilions that once served as meeting places. These structures show how architecture was designed to blend with everyday social life.
