Montalto Uffugo

Montalto Uffugo is a commune in the Province of Cosenza in Calabria, situated on a hilltop overlooking the surrounding plain. The settlement combines an older central core with more recent residential areas spreading down the slopes.

The settlement developed during a period when many Calabrian villages were founded on hilltops for protection against coastal raids. This elevated location shaped how the community evolved and expanded throughout the centuries.
