Treviso Airport, Commercial airport in Treviso, Italy
Treviso Airport is a commercial airport located southwest of the city center, with a single asphalt runway roughly 2,400 meters long. The facility includes a passenger terminal and handles both domestic and international flights.
The facility began as a flight field for Treviso Aeroclub and developed into a civil airport in 1935. The first passenger terminal was completed in 1953.
The terminal is named after Antonio Canova, a sculptor from the Veneto region who created classical marble works. This choice reflects the area's connection to the arts and its local heritage.
Visitors can reach Venice in approximately 40 minutes via regular bus services departing from the terminal. Tickets are available for purchase at the terminal or directly on the buses.
Before Venice's Marco Polo Airport opened in 1960, this airport served as the main entry point for visitors heading to the lagoon city. It was the primary gateway for travelers destined for Venice at that time.
