Santa Maria Francesca, Religious sanctuary in Naples, Italy
The Santa Maria Francesca church features a nave ceiling with 46 gilt-framed rectangular fresco panels created between 1598 and 1600 by multiple artists.
Following the demolition of Santa Maria ad Palatium monastery in 1268, the friars received permission to construct a new church at the current location.
The interior contains numerous paintings by Francesco Curia, Girolamo Imparato, and Belisario Corenzio depicting religious scenes including the Assumption of the Virgin.
Visitors can access the sanctuary from 7:00 AM to 12:15 PM daily, with additional visiting hours on the sixth day of each month from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
Women seeking fertility blessings visit a specific chair within the sanctuary, making it a destination for those praying for pregnancy.
