Forte Campomolon, Military fortress in Arsiero, Italy

Fort Campomolon stands at 1853 meters altitude between the Altopiano di Tonezza and Altopiano dei Fiorentini, featuring stone walls and circular galleries.

Construction began in 1912, but the fort remained incomplete when World War I started, leading to its destruction by Italian forces in May 1916.

The fort now forms part of the Ecomuseo Grande Guerra delle Prealpi Vicentine, preserving memories of the battles between Italian and Austro-Hungarian forces.

Visitors can access the fort through Tonezza del Cimone, following several tunnels and a short hike on a mountain track to reach the site.

The fortress contains a mysterious tubular gallery with an uncertain purpose, possibly designed to conceal mounted howitzers during military operations.
