Sarriod de la Tour

The castle stands near the Dora Baltea River, featuring multiple towers, a chapel, and fortified walls constructed in traditional Aosta Valley architecture.

The original structure dates from the 10th century, with Jean Sarriod leading major expansions in 1420 and his son Antoine adding modifications in 1478.

The Hall of Heads contains 171 carved corbels presenting mythological creatures and coats of arms, demonstrating medieval artistic representations from 1430.

Visitors can explore the castle daily between 09:00 and 19:00, accessing exhibits about military history and religious artifacts throughout multiple floors.

The ground floor displays medieval frescoes depicting daily life scenes and workshops, while the courtyard features an iron fountain called Melograno.
