Pont d'Aël, Roman aqueduct-bridge in Aymavilles, Italy

The stone structure spans 60 meters across the Grand-Eyvia stream, featuring two levels with a water channel above and a covered passage below.

Constructed in 3 B.C. by Caius Avillius Caimus from Padua, the bridge facilitated water transport and marble mining operations in the Aosta region.

The northern facade displays Latin inscriptions that document the construction period and the builder's name, preserving Roman architectural documentation methods.

The site welcomes visitors from April through September between 9 AM and 7 PM, with entry tickets priced at 5 euros for adults.

The dual-purpose design incorporates both water transport capabilities and a pedestrian passage, demonstrating advanced Roman engineering methods.
