Castello di Tour de Ville

Castello di Tour de Ville is a castle featuring a square tower rising from rocky ground with distinctive long corner stones at the base. The building combines different construction periods and shows both sturdy stone structures and refined architectural details.

The castle originated under the rule of the La Tour de Villa lords, who received the vice-domain of Aosta from Guido in the 13th century. Later generations added different construction elements between the 12th and 15th centuries, shaping the building we see today.

The chapel inside contains paintings by the Artari family that still reflect the medieval artistic tradition of this region. These works shape the appearance of the interior spaces and speak to the artistic skills that were once cultivated here.

The castle lies a short distance from Aosta city and the Pila ski slopes, and offers spaces for various occasions like weddings, celebrations, and photography sessions. Its proximity to these locations makes it easy to combine a visit with other activities.

A distinctive feature is the clear division into two building sections with different styles and periods. The older tower with sturdy proportions contrasts with the refined residential area, which displays elegant twin windows and reflects a different artistic refinement.
