Antiquarium Statale di Numana

The Antiquarium Statale di Numana displays artifacts from excavations of ancient burial sites, including pottery, tools, and inscriptions from the Picentes civilization.

The museum exhibits over five hundred Picentese burials discovered through archaeological campaigns that started in the late 1960s, leading to its opening in 1974.

The collection includes funerary items from a Picenian Queen's tomb dated to the sixth century BC, featuring metal chariot parts and Attic pottery.

Located at Via la Fenice 4 in central Numana, the museum opens Monday to Tuesday from 13:30 to 19:15 and Wednesday through Sunday from 08:15 to 19:15.

The museum houses two distinct types of ancient chariots that were dismantled and arranged according to specific Picentese funeral traditions.
