The Chiesa delle Scuole Pie reveals a brick facade with two orders of semi-columns and a triangular pediment, displaying traditional architectural elements.
Construction of this religious building started in 1712 by the Piarist Fathers and reached completion in 1770, incorporating parts of a previous structure.
The church interior contains frescoes by Giuseppe Galeotti and Andrea Leoncini, depicting Saint Joseph Calasanz, founder of the Piarist Order.
Located near San Lorenzo Cathedral in Piazza delle Scuole Pie, the church stands among noble palaces of the Cicala family.
Archaeological excavations during renovations in the 1980s revealed Roman Republican era remains beneath the church floor.
