The Chiesa di San Paolo exhibits contrasting architectural elements with its neoclassical facade and ornate Baroque interior decorations spanning multiple centuries.
Cardinal Giacomo Savelli initiated the construction of the church in 1282, and it underwent substantial modifications by Cardinal Marco Antonio Colonna in 1769.
The church houses numerous 17th and 18th-century canvases, including a central altarpiece depicting the anointment of Saint Paul by Pietro da Cortona's school.
Visitors can access the church from 8:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and between 8:00-10:00 and 11:30-18:00 during holidays at Piazza San Paolo.
The left chapel contains the relics of San Gaspare del Bufalo, founder of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood congregation.
