The Museo del Risorgimento e della Resistenza documents Italian unification and World War II through artifacts, weapons, uniforms, and historical documents.
Founded in 1903 to commemorate three local patriots, the museum expanded in 1954 to include collections about the Italian resistance movement.
The museum preserves materials from the French occupation through the Risorgimento period, including artifacts from the Bersaglieri del Po military unit.
The institution is temporarily closed for relocation to Casa della Patria Pico Cavalieri at Corso Giovecca 165, with study center access by appointment.
The collection includes remnants of the Austrian fortress of Ferrara and documents about racial persecutions during the twentieth century.
