The museum occupies the former sleeping quarters of the nunnery, situated on the first floor of the cloister that was constructed during the 14th century.
The exhibition rooms display fragments of Giotto frescoes, medieval sculptures, marble decorations, and various religious reliquaries from different periods.
Located at Via di Santa Chiara 49, the museum opens Monday through Saturday from 09:30 to 17:30 and Sundays from 10:00 to 14:30.
The museum contains ruins of first-century Roman baths, including a preserved laconicum, revealing the ancient thermal complex beneath the religious structure.
