The Parco regionale dei Campi Flegrei is a regional park spanning multiple municipalities in the Naples metropolitan area, including Bacoli, Monte di Procida, and Pozzuoli. Its landscape contains volcanic formations, thermal springs, natural harbors, and remains from ancient civilizations layered throughout the terrain.

The coastal settlement of Cumae was established in the 7th century BC as one of the earliest Greek colonies in Italy and later shaped the founding of Naples. From the Hellenistic period through Roman times, the area became a center for trade, culture, and the use of natural thermal springs for healing.

The Archaeological Museum of Campi Flegrei at Baia Castle displays ancient artifacts and plaster casts of Greek sculptures that Roman artisans created. These collections tell the story of how Greek and Roman cultures deeply influenced each other in this region.

The park is accessible through marked trails and walking routes that lead to volcanic features, thermal springs, and ancient ruins. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as sections of the terrain are open and hilly with limited shade.

The park contains vineyards planted with rare native grape varieties that grow without grafting onto American rootstocks. These vines maintain their original characteristics and are remarkably unusual around the world.
