The Sanctuary of Gabii spans across volcanic terrain near Lake Castiglione, featuring ancient tuff walls and substantial religious structures from the Roman period.
The site was established during the Middle Bronze Age and reached its peak during the Roman Republic before declining in the 1st century BC.
The temple of Juno Gabina exhibits architectural elements including six columns and religious artifacts that demonstrate ancient Roman worship practices.
The archaeological site lies 20 kilometers east of Rome along Via Prenestina, with visitor inquiries handled through mupa-prae-gabi@cultura.gov.it.
The excavation revealed forty statues in 1792, including portraits of Marcus Agrippa and Severan emperors, now displayed in the Louvre and Borghese collection.
