The Castello di Lunghezza stands 20 kilometers east of Rome, featuring extensive courtyards, noble halls, and a three-hectare surrounding park.
Constructed in 761 AD, the castle passed from the Poli family to the Orsini nobles following a dispute with Pope Boniface VIII in the 13th century.
The castle combines medieval fortification elements with Renaissance residential features, reflecting centuries of architectural evolution and noble family influences.
The castle maintains regular opening hours for visitors and provides dedicated parking areas, with easy access from three A24 highway exits.
Malcolm Munthe acquired the property in the 1950s, transforming this historical fortress into a public attraction that hosts events throughout the year.
