Chiesa di Nostra Signora di Częstochowa

The Chiesa di Nostra Signora di Częstochowa is a church building in the La Rustica district of Rome featuring a striking facade with colored glass panels. Inside, a suspended tabernacle is centered within a polychrome glass rosette that draws the eye upward.

Pope Paul VI commissioned the church in 1965 to commemorate one thousand years of Poland's Christianization. The building emerged as a symbol of connection between Italian and Polish Catholic communities.

The church holds an authentic replica of the Black Madonna of Czestochowa icon above the main altar. This image carries deep spiritual meaning for Polish worshippers who visit to pay their respects.

The church is located at Largo Augusto Corelli 9 and is open during regular Mass times for visitors. Best to check ahead since opening times vary depending on religious services and community events.

Since November 2004, the church has housed the remains of Venerable Lorena D'Alessandro, who passed away at age 16. Her beatification process was initiated, making this site notable for those interested in her spiritual journey.
