Teatro Biblioteca Quarticciolo is a modern building in eastern Rome that houses a 158-seat theater and public library under one roof. The two sections work together as an integrated cultural space, with performances and book collections sharing the same venue.
The theatre-library occupies the converted former Quarticciolo market, redesigned by the architecture studio F. Pepe & A. Preziosi. The project reworked the market building into a complex combining a theatre, a library with an exhibition area, and a refreshment space. It stands in the Alessandrino district and takes its name from the Quarticciolo zone.
This space grew out of the neighborhood's need for more artistic venues in eastern Rome. The way locals use both the stage and library together shows how they value performance and reading equally.
The venue stands in the Alessandrino district, reachable from Via Prenestina and Viale Palmiro Togliatti. ATAC tram 14 ends at Togliatti, bus 451 stops at Togliatti/Gelsi, and bus 556 serves the Molfetta and Togliatti/Molfetta stops from Centocelle and Torre Spaccata. The building combines theatre, library and exhibition areas with a refreshment space, so check which section you need before setting out.
