Palazzo Ducezio, Municipal palace in Noto, Italy

Palazzo Ducezio is a large civic building in Noto with a symmetrical limestone facade in pale yellow stone. The lower level features twenty arches supported by Ionic columns, while the upper story contains thirteen rectangular windows arranged across the width.

Architect Vincenzo Sinatra began construction in 1746, drawing inspiration from 17th-century French palace design, with completion occurring in 1830. This extended building period reflects the city's gradual reconstruction and growing civic needs during that era.

The oval Hall of Mirrors displays a neoclassical fresco from 1826 depicting the city's foundation, decorated with gold stucco that catches the light. The room remains in active use today for official ceremonies and receptions.

The palace functions as the town hall and part of the interior is open to visitors, particularly the Hall of Mirrors with its decorative features. A combined ticket grants access to both this building and the nearby Teatro Tina Di Lorenzo, allowing you to visit both cultural sites in one outing.

The vaulted ceiling contains an allegory of Ducezio showing a figure pointing toward Mount Alveria, the original location of the city before it was relocated. This artistic scene blends mythological narrative with the actual history of how the settlement moved to its current position.
