Villa Canali Gaslini, Art Nouveau villa in Albaro district, Genoa, Italy.

Villa Canali Gaslini is a three-story Art Nouveau residence in the Albaro district of Genoa, featuring a central main structure with two side buildings. The property sits within a 1-hectare sloping garden that descends toward Corso Italia.

The building was constructed between 1924 and 1925 for the Canali family and later served as the Japanese consulate headquarters. Gerolamo Gaslini purchased it in 1942, after which it took his name.

The interiors display carefully crafted wooden ceilings, ornate stucco details, and frescoes in the upper floor bedrooms that show Italian craftsmanship. This decoration shapes how the house looks today and reflects the taste of those who originally lived here.

The villa now functions as the headquarters of a medical foundation and is open to visitors only during special events throughout the year. Check ahead for opening dates since access is limited to these occasions.

The property was occupied by German and Allied forces during World War II before being returned to the Gaslini family in 1948. This wartime chapter left marks on the house's story.
