Türcke Castle, Medieval castle in Vernazzola, Italy

Türcke Castle is a residence on Cape Santa Chiara built in the early 1900s with neo-medieval features and strong stone walls. The structure combines defensive architectural elements with living spaces, presenting the design of a fortified villa rather than a true fortress.

A Swiss engineer commissioned construction of this property in 1903, selecting a prominent architect to design the structure in neo-medieval style. After his death in 1917, a new owner purchased the villa and expanded the grounds through successive land purchases.

The structure shows Venetian architectural influences typical of Genoa's maritime heritage. Its position on the headland shapes how the surrounding neighborhood appears to visitors walking through the area.

The property sits in the Albaro district of Genoa, an area well-connected by local paths that lead toward the shoreline and nearby beaches. The neighborhood has numerous shops and dining options, making it easy to explore on foot.

The architect who designed this property was a notable figure who created other remarkable buildings in Italy and developed a distinctive personal style. His work on this villa shows a rare blend of historical references and contemporary thinking for the era.
