Villa Gentile

Villa Gentile is an athletics facility in Genoa with a complete running track and training equipment for multiple sports disciplines. The grounds include dedicated areas for throwing events, jumping competitions, and other track and field activities.

The facility opened in 1971 on the grounds of a former military hospital, becoming Genoa's main athletics center. This transformation repurposed the location into a significant training base for regional athletes.

The stadium has hosted multiple Italian Youth Championships and welcomed notable athletes including Pietro Mennea and Serhij Bubka for training sessions.

The facility is located at Via Brigata Salerno 6 in Sturla and serves multiple athletic clubs in the area. Visitors should note that this is primarily a training venue with specific access hours that should be respected.

The Davoli Trophy, a national middle-distance running competition, has been held annually at Villa Gentile for over three decades.
