Villa Malta, Historical villa on Pincio hill, Rome, Italy

The villa features a quadrangular tower, grand facades, and multiple floors housing administrative offices, living quarters, and an extensive underground library.

Originally constructed in the 16th century by the Orsini family, the villa later became the residence of various nobles, including Queen Maria Cristina Casimira of Poland.

The villa serves as the headquarters of La Civiltà Cattolica, a Jesuit journal that addresses contemporary social, political, and religious matters in Italy.

Regular guided tours of Villa Malta require advance reservations through the La Civiltà Cattolica office, with limited access to certain sections of the building.

A palm tree planted by King Louis I of Bavaria in 1867 remains in the villa gardens, documented by a German inscription near its base.
