Castello Visconteo, Medieval castle in Binasco, Italy

The castle features a quadrangular layout with high brick walls, two remaining corner towers, and a central courtyard surrounded by crenellated battlements.

Luchino Visconti constructed the fortress between 1315 and 1319 to protect Milan from enemy incursions during the medieval period.

The castle walls display the Visconti snake symbol above the original entrance, representing the powerful family that ruled the Duchy of Milan.

The structure now houses the municipal offices, a public library, and a Carabinieri station, with free admission for visitors.

In 1418, Duchess Beatrice di Tenda met her fate within these walls when she was executed following accusations of adultery.
