Hirosaki Castle, Japanese castle in Hirosaki Park, Japan
The castle features three stories, fortified moats, castle gates, and corner turrets within a 0.6 square kilometer public park setting.
Built in 1611 by the Tsugaru Clan, the original five-story keep was destroyed by lightning in 1627 and reconstructed in 1810 as a three-story structure.
The castle grounds host seasonal celebrations, including the Spring Cherry Blossom Festival with over 2,500 trees and traditional illuminated displays.
The castle keep remains open to visitors from 9:00 to 17:00 daily between April and November, with admission fees supporting preservation efforts.
The castle keep was moved 70 meters from its original position during restoration work on stone walls and will return to its location by 2025.
