Mizuho, City in Gifu Prefecture, Japan
Mizuho occupies the southwestern section of Gifu Prefecture, with the Nagara River and Ibi River flowing through its municipal boundaries.
The land of present-day Mizuho belonged to Ogaki Domain during the Tokugawa period, and Mieji-juku station served travelers on the Nakasendo highway.
The municipal area maintains strong connections to agricultural traditions, particularly rice cultivation, which reflects the meaning of its name signifying abundance.
The city connects to major transport routes through the Tokaido Main Line at Hozumi station and the Tarumi Railway Line with multiple local stations.
The population density reaches 1900 persons per square kilometer, making it one of the most densely populated areas in Gifu Prefecture.
