揖斐川橋梁, Railway bridge in Ogaki, Japan
The Ibigawa Railway Bridge spans 304.8 meters across the Ibi River, connecting Ogaki City with Anpachi Town in Gifu Prefecture.
Built in 1887, the original bridge structure was replaced in 1913, and the current third-generation bridge began operations in 1961.
The bridge received designation as an Important Cultural Property in 2008, representing the evolution of Japanese railway engineering through three generations.
The double-track bridge serves as a critical link on the Tokaido Main Line, facilitating rail transport between Aichi Prefecture and the Kinki region.
The bridge features a through-type parallel chord Warren truss design, with brick cylinder foundations extending 70 feet underground.
