Aioi is a port city in Hyōgo Prefecture situated between small mountains and bordering the Seto Inland Sea. Mount Minosan rises to the north while Mount Tengadai stands to the east, framing the urban landscape.
The Ebina clan, serving the Akamatsu clan, established their base in this region during the feudal era. From this foundation, the area grew into the city that exists today.
The Aioi Peron Festival takes place on the last weekend of May with dragon boat races rooted in a tradition from 1655. This celebration reflects the community's deep connection to the sea and remains central to how locals mark their year.
The city connects to major destinations through the Sanyo Shinkansen, JR West rail lines, and the Sanyo Expressway along National Routes 2 and 250. Multiple transportation options make it easy to move around and reach neighboring areas.
